Practice Gold Camp

2016 Practice Gold Camp

With Canada’s Foremost Polar Explorer as Guest of Honour.
January 9 & 10 2016, Nakkertok North trails, Vals-des-Monts, Quebec

Practice Gold camp skills and inspire the next generation of Gold Campers:  Nakkertok Nordic, Chelsea Nordique and XC Chelsea Masters  ski clubs are getting together this winter to offer a Canadian Ski Marathon  style gold camp experience and inviting interested members of the ski community to join them.

This is to provide a training opportunity for Coureur des Bois skiers to test their equipment and readiness for future or planned attempt for CdB Gold. Equally, it is to introduce youth enrolled in XC ski club adventure programs to experience winter camping and learn about preparing for Gold CdB in a safe and controlled setting.

Richard Weber, foremost Polar explorer and former National ski team member is the Guest of Honour. Richard skied the first Canadian Ski Marathon at the age of 8 in 1967 and he will be skiing for his Gold Coureur des Bois, in 2016, on the 50th anniversary. The Webers are pioneers of the Canadian Ski Marathon, and one of Nakkertok founding families. This will be an opportunity to meet one of our greatest ski adventurers!”
